My personal website has been in nearly continuous service since 1999...long before such things were called "blogs." In the beginning, it was intended to be the electronic version of the printed newsletter I was producing at the time.

Balancing the desire for an all-encompassing design with the reality of regular updates meant that the blog's architecture had to be reduced over time to make it practical.
